Coffee-Flavored Tiramisu Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Cake Layers:

1 ¾ cups (220g) all-purpose flour

1 ½ tsp baking powder

½ tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt

¾ cup (170g) unsalted butter, softened

1 cup (200g) granulated sugar

3 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

½ cup (120ml) whole milk

½ cup (120ml) strong brewed coffee (cooled)

For the Coffee Syrup:

½ cup (120ml) strong brewed coffee

2 tbsp sugar

1 tbsp coffee liqueur (optional)

For the Mascarpone Filling:

1 ½ cups (340g) mascarpone cheese

1 cup (240ml) heavy cream, cold

½ cup (60g) powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Coffee Frosting:

1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened

3 cups (375g) powdered sugar

2 tbsp strong brewed coffee (cooled)

1 tsp vanilla extract

Garnish:

Unsweetened cocoa powder

Dark chocolate shavings or coffee beans

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Cake Layers:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 8-inch round cake pans.

2. In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

3. In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy (2-3 minutes).

4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

5. Alternately add the dry ingredients and the milk-coffee mixture, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.

6. Divide the batter evenly between the pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

7. Cool the cakes completely in the pans before removing.

2. Make the Coffee Syrup:

1. In a small saucepan, combine the brewed coffee and sugar over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves.

2. Remove from heat and stir in the coffee liqueur (if using). Let it cool.

3. Prepare the Mascarpone Filling:

1. In a large bowl, beat the mascarpone, heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Be careful not to overmix.

4. Make the Coffee Frosting:

1. Beat the butter until smooth and creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and mix well.

2. Add the brewed coffee and vanilla extract, beating until fully incorporated and fluffy.

5. Assemble the Cake:

1. Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Brush generously with the coffee syrup.

2. Spread half of the mascarpone filling on top.

3. Add the second cake layer, brush with coffee syrup, and spread the remaining mascarpone filling.

4. Frost the entire cake with the coffee frosting.

6. Garnish and Chill:

1. Dust the top of the cake with cocoa powder. Decorate with chocolate shavings or coffee beans if desired.

2. Refrigerate for at least 4-6 hours or overnight for the flavors to meld together.
