basbousa with orange
Basbousa with orange and semolina is an easy, fast and light dessert that can be prepared in the blessed month of Ramadan at any time. Its ingredients are simple and tastes great, and the family will enjoy it after breakfast.
Ingredients
3 eggs
½ cup sugar
½ cup of oil
1 cup orange juice
1 cup semolina
Drizzle 1 orange
2 cups flour
1 envelope of baking powder
To water the basbousah:
3 cups sugar
3 cups of water
½ cup orange juice
How to prepare
In a bowl, place both eggs and sugar and beat with an electric whisk well.
Add the oil, juice, orange zest and semolina and mix well.
Add flour and baking powder and stir until the ingredients are completely mixed.
Grease the oven tray with oil and pour the mixture into it and put it in the oven at 175 degrees for about 35 minutes, then take it out and let it cool down.
Mix the sugar and water and put it on the stove until it boils and leave it for about 8 minutes, then add the orange juice and let it boil for two or three minutes.
Pour the hot mixture over the basbousah and let it rest for two hours, then chop it and it is ready to serve.
