Beefaroni (Beef-A-Roni)
Pasta Bake
Ingredients
1kg mince meat
4 Tbsp olive oil
1 Tbsp butter
1 onion grated
2tsp crushed garlic
1 tsp Italian herbs
Salt and pepper to taste
1 can tomato puree
1 x 50g (1 Sachet) tomato paste
1 to 3 Tbsp sugar ( or to taste)
Dash of water
1 packet (500g) Macaroni
2 Tbs olive oil
Boiling water
Salt
800g Cheese
Method
Boil macaroni in water with salt and olive oil.
Heat olive oil, add onions and butter. Sauté for 5 minutes.
Add Italian herbs and garlic. Sauté for 2 minutes.

Add minced meat, salt and pepper. Braise for 10 minutes. Add tomato puree, tomato paste and sugar. Stir and add a dash of water.
Lower the heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
Drain macaroni and add to meat sauce.
Add 1 cup cheese and add to macaroni.
Transfer to greased oven proof dish. Top with grated cheese
Bake at 180°c for 30 minutes.
Serve hot and serve with a crisp salad and bread of choice
