Lemon-buttermilk pound cake

Ingredients
FLOUR 3/4 cup
SUGAR 3/4 cup
SALT 1/4 tsp
UNSALTED BUTTER 1/2 cup
EGGS 2 large
BAKING POWDER 1 tbs
LEMON JUICE 2 tbs
LEMON ZEST 1 tbs
BUTTERMILK 1/2 cup

FOR GLAZE
POWDERED SUGAR 1 cup
LEMON RIND 8 tbs
LEMON JUICE 3 tbs

LEMON ESSENCE a few drops
The lemon should never be missing in a kitchen. It is a citric that gives a very special flavor and a lot of vitamin C. It also gives a different touch practically everything that is put. Mix butter and sugar with electric mixer at medium speed, until creamy. This process should last at least 10 minutes. The cake will be spongy if you take this step with care.

Prepare the syrup by mixing the ingredients in a pot on low heat until a honey is formed. Do not introduce anything to stir, mix stirring gently the pot.

Cover the pound cake with the syrup and sprinkle with lemon zest.

Tips
When choosing your lemons, prefer those with smooth and shiny skin. Grate the lemons before extracting the juice. You will see that you will get more juice if you squeeze them to room temperature.
