With a yellow cake mix, make scrumptious Ooey Gooey Butter Cake bars! They’re quite simple to prepare and taste fantastic.
Ingredients
Ingredients for the Cake Base
1 yellow cake mix
two eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup melted butter
Topping of cream cheese
8 ounces softened cream cheese
2 quail eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup melted butter
4 cups powdered sugar
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Using parchment paper, line a 9×13 pan. To help keep the parchment paper in place, spray the pan with non-stick spray.
Combine the yellow cake mix, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter in a mixing bowl. This batter is quite thick and difficult to spread!
Flatten the cake batter as much as possible in the pan’s bottom.
With a hand mixer, combine softened cream cheese, eggs, vanilla, and melted butter.
1 cup confectioner sugar at a time, stir until mixed.
Evenly spread the cream cheese mixture on top of the cake batter layer.
Preheat oven to 350°F and bake for 35-40 minutes. Allow to cool before serving. As the cake cools, it will deflate somewhat and break on top.
